Every beginning is difficult! Of course, it's not always easy. But I wouldn't want to change anything for the world. My experiences make me what I am today - and I learn from my mistakes.
I started karting very late.
I was allowed to compete in my first race in 2022 with a club license. Exactly one year later I was happy about second place in the Vega Trofeo in Levier.
Florentin Hattemer
I grew up in Gstaad/CH and was very lucky to be able to ski almost every day in winter with the John F. Kennedy school. Speed was already my passion there.
I speak German, French and English. That helps me a lot when I'm on the various kart tracks abroad.
My weakness is discipline in everything other than karting. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm for school is limited, much to the chagrin of mum and dad :).
My family
I also have an older sister, Sophina Hattemer (2008).
There are also two dogs. The smaller one is Pfupfi, super cute and stubborn as a donkey. Coco the oversized Yorkshire lady is funny, cheeky and playful.
My whole family has my back and supports me wholeheartedly.
I would also like to say a big thank you to my sister, who has to do without a lot.
hobbies
I don't have much time for other hobbies. But when I have time, I enjoy skiing in the winter and swimming in the pool in the summer. Food is also a great passion of mine. But my only true hobby is motorsport.
Thanks
A big shoutout to driver coach Micka Brive and my sport coach Nikola Babic. Not only are they great help to me now, they stayed by my side throughout my whole recovery process, ensuring I recover to my fullest extent. Thank you as well to D Sports for supporting me by managing me.
Thanks to my international ISZL school in Zug, which gave me the opportunity to practice this complex sport and gives me constant time off. Fully supports me so that you can do your homework at the race track or catch up at home.
Thanks to Brandon Maisano (former Formula 2 driver) and his BMR team. After I started the first races with the Spirit team, he saw me racing in the summer of 2022 and believed in me. Thanks to him, I'm already where I am today.
In the spring of 2023, thanks to a 4th place at the French championship, IAME Series, in Angerville, I became the official driver of the international Victory Lane team, which, with its professional organization and great material, is constantly improving me and I have been able to achieve further good results so far .
A big shoutout to driver coach Micka Brive and my sport coach Nikola Babic. Not only are they great help to me now, they stayed by my side throughout my whole recovery process, ensuring I recover to my fullest extent. Thank you as well to D Sports for supporting me by managing me.
Accident
I had a serious karting accident in Cremona in November 2024 with serious leg injuries. After several operations on both legs, I am now in REHA at the OYM in Cham. In mid-January I was finally able to leave my wheelchair for the first time and take my first steps on crutches. I am very motivated to return stronger.
Thanks to the Family
Big Thanks to Danny from Maffi Racing.
Without Danny and his support I would not have recovered so quick!
He was the person who organized the Clinic and told us to go there because we had no clue where to go.
I also want to thank him for the daily visits and making these days more fun.
Thanks for all visites
